Rich BlankenshipA Certified Public Accountant and trusted advisor, Richard E. Blankenship has over 40 years of diversified experience in public and corporate accounting. He offers concentrated experience and advanced training with pass-through entity taxation issues for partnerships, limited liability companies and S-corporations and has served clients ranging from closely held businesses and their owners to publicly held companies, their management and investors. With significant time devoted to the corporate tax area, including consolidated group taxation, Rich also has significant experience with not-for-profit entities.

Rich holds a law degree (J.D.) from the University of Maryland School of Law (tax and business law track). He also holds an M.B.A. (finance), and a B.S. with Honors in Accounting, from the University of Maryland.

Experience

Rich has served as a Senior Tax Manager for national firm Arthur Andersen and for Carr, Riggs & Ingram, a large regional CPA firm. Additionally, Rich has worked for smaller CPA firms and a publicly traded corporation. What is more, he practiced as an attorney with a large law firm specializing in commercial real estate. While completing his accounting degree, Rich worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Agent trainee conducting office and field audits.

Professional & Community Involvement

As a member of the Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA), Rich has served on the FICPA Federal Taxation Committee and is past Chair of the FICPA Florida Institute on Federal Taxation Conference Committee. Throughout his career, Rich has been active with business networking groups, trade organizations and local church ministries. Rich is past President of the Tallahassee Regional Estate Planning Council and also past President of Tallahassee’s North East Business Association.
